Commission to continue to meet at Ag Building

The County Commission has worked out a plan to let the Board continue to meet at the Ag Building next to the airport.

At the workshop meeting at the end of May Commission Chair Dana Whiddon said she was told the Board of Commissioners cannot meet outside the County Seat, except in certain circumstances. Ashburn is the Turner County seat.

That information comes via a north Georgia county that built a courthouse complex outside the County seat. That County Commission cannot hold voting meetings in the new courthouse because of how the law is written.

Commissioner Brad Calhoun said the County has gotten an OK to continue to meet in the Ag Building.
