Women’s Lucheon

We had an absolute packed house this afternoon at our second Women In Business luncheon! Our topic was Networking through Volunteerism and we had the perfect speaker Angie Butler O’Steen. We also had several local nonprofits speak briefly about their organizations and their missions Coastal Plain CASA, Inc., Family Connections of Turner County, Second Chance Pet Sanctuary, Victoria Evans Memorial Library, and Kiwanis, Food Bank, Rotary, and local hospice were mentioned. We had donations from local businesses for our door prizes: Calhoun Produce, Inc., KimberSu, Dawn Myers Photography, Wild Roots Nursery, and Asa Med Spa! The food was done by Holy Grounds Café and the flowers by Bouquets by McKay! We are so grateful for the over 90 women who attended the event. We can’t wait to keep it growing for next year! Thank you Ashburn First Baptist Church, for hosting us as well!

Social Media Tips

Social media is most effective when you understand who you are trying to reach and how those audiences engage online. Understanding customer behavior and creating intentional engagement opportunities can help strengthen relationships, build loyalty and support long-term growth.

Below are some tips to help you reach the right audience on social media:

  1. Use Analytics to understand your audience. Social media platforms provide valuable insights into audience demographics, from engagement trends to top-performing content. Reviewing this data regularly can help businesses better understand who is engaging with their content and what the audience cares about, what problems they need solved and what type of messaging feels the most relatable. Even beyond the data provided by platforms, pay attention to the types of posts that are generating the most interaction and use that information to share future strategies.
  2. Create content that provides value. Audiences are more likely to engage with content that answers questions or solves problems. Educational, informative and solution-focused posts help position businesses as trusted industry resources. Hootsuite reported in their 2025 Social Media Trends Report that 34% of respondents negatively viewed brands and organizations that were too focused on self-promotion. Ultimately, the focus should be on creating content that speaks directly to your audience’s needs, values and lifestyles.
  3. Engage directly with followers. Social media works best as a two-way conversation. Responding to comments, answering questions and acknowledging feedback helps businesses build stronger relationships and demonstrate responsiveness beyond just social media.
  4. Highlight the people behind the business. Audiences are more likely to connect with businesses that feel authentic and approachable. Sharing employee spotlights, behind-the-scenes content, company culture or leadership perspectives can humanize a brand and strengthen audience trust. This type of content can also support recruiting efforts and reinforce company values while creating more meaningful engagement online.
  5. Tailor content to each platform. Different audiences respond differently depending on the platform. Professional insights may perform well on LinkedIn, while visual storytelling may be more effective on Instagram and Facebook. Adapting content to fit each audience can improve engagement and connection.

Businesses that focus on understanding and engaging their target audiences are more likely to build lasting relationships online. A thoughtful, audience-centered strategy can strengthen trust, improve engagement and create a more effective social media presence over time.
