City approves tiny home zoning

A Tiny Home Village ordinance (THV) was approved by the Ashburn City Council at the June meeting.

The Council has discussed this idea for a few months now. It went before the Planning & Zoning advisory board with a do-approve provided the Council included some changes.

The Council approved a 10-foot setback from all the property lines for a tiny home.

P&Z also suggested the tiny home cannot be titled. The Council did not accept that recommendation.

With the ordinance in place, people with at least one acre of land can apply for THV zoning.
