Yawn wants input on a community center

Sycamore Council member Jennifer Yawn wants to know if there is enough support across the County for a community center.

“There is a problem in Sycamore, the region, the state, the country and the world – loneliness. We should know our neighbors. We don’t know our neighbors. We are scared to know our neighbors,” she said. “Talk to people. We don’t meet our neighbors. We don’t know. No one wants to knock on doors any more.”

She encouraged people to let her and other elected officials know if such a facility is worthwhile here.

“The other problem is, is the juice worth the squeeze. How many of you will be on your phones 5 minutes after we adjourn?” asked Councilman Jim Galt-Brown.
