Justin Cook promoted to chief training officer

Turner County resident Justin Cook has been promoted to Training Chief for the City of Cordele Fire Department.

Chief Cook got started in the fire service in 2001, serving as a volunteer firefighter for Turner County. He began his professional career in the City of Cordele in 2002. While at CFD, Justin earned his EMT certification and worked at Turner County EMS for several years while also earning his paramedic certification from Darton College (now Albany State University).

He returned to CFD in 2009 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2013. Over the past 13 years, Justin has earned various certifications including over 1,000 hours from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, The National Fire Academy, New Mexico Technical College, GEMA and over 4,500 hours of training for the Georgia Insurance Safety Office. He is a P.O.S.T. certified instructor, an adjunct instructor at Georgia Public Safety Training Center, and serves as a tactical medic for the Tri-County Special Response Team.
