Legion hosts Memorial Day observance

American Legion Post 98 hosted its annual Memorial Day ceremony in Elrod Park on Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is set aside to remember and honor US service men and women who died in service to the nation.
Veterans Day, in November, is for all veterans alive and passed.
As part of the ceremony, Legion member Mike Mastrario read the names of the Turner County war dead, beginning with WWI and ending with the Vietnam War.
Those names are also on the plaque in the park.
Danny Ashley Sr, from American Legion Post 141 in Camilla was the keynote speaker for the morning.
