EMS asks for lifts
The EMS is asking the County to buy stretcher lifts for the ambulances.
These devices will lift a stretcher into the ambulance and secure it automatically. The EMS crew will not have to lift the stretcher with this device in place.
At $35,900 per lift, it sounds like a lot to some. EMS Director Robby Royal is asking for 4. He said the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax can pay for the devices. The total is $143,932.16
“If it saves 1 back injury for the County, it pays for itself,” he told the County Commission. “It decreases the injuries to employees.”
