A new way to help Turner County

A new way to support Turner County is coming.

The Elevate Turner Foundation (ETF) plans to become a program to invest in long-term projects for Turner County and seek grants for all kinds of projects.

“Turner County needs this foundation, which is a nonprofit organized as a 501.c.3. That c.3 designation matters under IRS rules. People who donate to ETF can get a tax write-off,” said Ashley Miller, executive director of the Turner County Chamber of Commerce.

“Also, this kind of foundation can apply for grants that the Chamber and other groups in Turner County cannot get. So many of the grant notices I get, the chamber cannot apply for them. I do send the information to other groups who can apply, like the Library, Turner County Connections and others. Still, some grants go past because no one here fits the application requirements.”
