An exciting day
July 1 was an exciting day for the Victoria Evans Memorial Library as we officially joined the Ocmulgee Regional Library System!
As Board Chair, I want to reassure everyone that while our regional system has changed, everything that makes our library special is still here. We’re still the same Victoria Evans Memorial Library that has worked hard to grow our programs, renovate our building, expand our collection, and create a welcoming place for our community. You’ll still see the same friendly faces and receive the same great service you’ve come to expect.
This move opens the door to new opportunities, resources, and partnerships that will help us continue serving Turner County for years to come. We’re excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to share it with you.
I’m especially grateful to our incredible library staff, my fellow Board of Trustees, our community partners, and everyone who has supported the library over the years. Your support has helped shape the library into what it is today, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
As both a lifelong library supporter and your Board Chair, it has been a privilege to help lead the library into this next chapter. Thank you for believing in your library, showing up for our programs, checking out books, and making the Victoria Evans Memorial Library such a special place. The best is still ahead, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

Chair, VEML Board of Trustees
