County has no real plans for old 911 building

The old 911 building at the EMS/Fire complex in Ashburn continues to sit without being used.
Parts of the roof are missing. Tar paper covers some parts of the plywood, but that is not enough to stop rain from soaking through.
County Commission Chair Dana Whiddon asked if anyone knew what is happening with it.
“Nothing is going on with it as far as I know,” said County Commissioner and Acting County Manager Nick Denham.
E911 moved out of the building to the Sheriff’s complex. Prior to that, the building housed the Elections Superintendent. Elections moved to the Bubba Akin Building on Highway 41.
“It is kind of falling apart,” Ms. Whiddon said.
The County has wondered what to do with the small building for years. Discussions started when 911 was still there.
